Anime Angel's I: Snow's Descent

Finally getting around to posting the works that I wasn't allowed to post yet.

Around Fanime last year, I was approached by someone at my booth promoting about an artbook collaboration with several other artists around the world and asked if I would like to be a part of it. I didn't too much about it, but said sure anyways, what did I have to lose? Several months later I'm getting emails from the them in a group email that included many other talented artists and I was first like "What is this?...OH! That thing back in Fanime!" So several months later, the group Maron Media has given birth to the Anime Angel's Artbook~

So in result I made two pieces for the artbook, this being the first of them.
There was a note at the end of the emails when we were first starting to mix it up a bit, since 75% of the art was most likely going to be of pretty girls with wings. So I went less happy, cheerful themes. It was fun~

Reach Out to the Truth and Be Your True Self

Many many thanks to all those who saw me at my table this year at Fanime~!
Even more thank to all those who went and bought my art~! You guys were awesome!

These two guys were one of the pieces that I was able to complete on time which still has me headslamming myself on my keyboard for being such a slowpoke with them... -A-
They were a set of Persona4 back to back bookmarks. So if you bought the first one on the top row, you would get the the first one on the bottom row on the other side~
Quite a number of people were pretty ecstatic about them, and a good number of others were asking if I was going to do others, like Persona3 and etc. The answer is YES, I really had fun drawing these mostly because the persona forms don't have many reference, so they were fun to draw.

WIP

Whew, I forgot how taxing prepping illustrations for cons can be. ><
Been working on selling material so I thought, might as well post some of the things I'm selling~

I HEART the Persona series so much and when they announced they were going to animated it, I squealed (though a huge part of me was thinking it was gonna turn out like Persona: Trinity Soul) No offense, the series as a Persona fan was pretty good, and you can't beat a late-twenties Akihiko, but still if they put that same effort into P4 I was going to cry. Turned out to be one of my favorite series to watch in the fall and was back to religiously watching anime weekly. And then the hype with Arc System's P4 fighting game and P4: Golden was announced and everyone was getting into P4. Love the hype and all but you got to love it sometimes when you know the game/series before it gets SUPER popular.

SO with that, decided to go and make bookmarks, cause the tarot card formats is just screaming for BOOKMARKS. Top row will be side A, and the bottom row with their Personas is Side B. It's taxing but going to be worth it printed.

If you're a shoujo fan and want something different from the typical "girl and guy meet and fall in love" type of story, Inu x Boku SS or Youko x Boku SS is a series to look into. Yes they have those typical shoujo elements, but throw in demon blood into the mix and it makes for an interesting series that raises the stakes higher other than the typical "oh someone is trying to take my guy/girl away from me". And the characters are very funny and loveable. Got to heart Ririchiyo x Soushi all the way, they're so adorable and their Dog x Master x Dog relationship is so funny to watch.

I probably should have colored them too but I was trying to aim for the overall mood first.

For all of those you going to Fanime, I'LL SEE YOU THERE! Drop by my booth and say hi or sign my guestbook if you want (nothing special, I just want to see how many people will actually write something in it). I'll post the table number when the staff eventually gets to that...

Childhood

I remember when I was a kid, I would think anything that had a face was alive and wouldn't reveal themselves unless I was asleep or wasn't around. Toy Story pretty much personified mostly any kid's thoughts about their toys in the best way possible.

I made this for a collaboration a year or so ago, and I really liked how it turned out.

San Francisco JPop Summit 2011

Was looking through my stuff, and found this little piece that I submitted for San Francisco's 2011 JPop Summit last year. They were doing a contest for their street banners and it had to be Miku-themed and have something to do with San Francisco, so this is what I came up with. I made another street banner for Japantown's Annual Cherry Blossom Festival for an assignment a year or so before, so I used that same theme for this one.

Unfortunately, I didn't win, but I had fun making this. It made me refresh my vector skills and reminded me how long it takes to make vectors...

Doodle

Didn't realize I haven't uploaded anything for half a year. *fails*

Ended up browsing through some of my old sketches and files and found this lil' thing lying around. I really liked it and just wanted to see it in color.

I'll probably randomly doodle as always until I find something to post that doesn't make me cringe.
